Hello loves! Spring is finally here! The weather is getting nicer, so I feel this is the perfect time to start a new beauty regime! Especially for my skin. I like using different products in different seasons, but they all have something in common: they have to have natural ingredients and be paraben free.
Lately, if they can be eco-friendly that’s a big plus! That’s why I was so happy to give Naturalene by Greeniche a try!
I don’t know about all your other mamas out there, but myself I’m so bad with my night routine! By 8pm I’m usually a zombie walking, and I have to say that I’m guilty of not taking my make up off! I know I know! I’m gross!
That’s why I love their cleansing wipes, as I don’t have to do the whole “watching my face, find a towel, do this and that” thing. It only takes me 5 seconds to remove all the make-up and impurities from my skin!
During the weekends is when I usually take some time to do all the beauty regimes, and it is when I incorporate their face cleanser and cream! Their cleanser is safe, natural and soap-free formulation. My favourite thing about it is that it contains essential oils! Yes! If you have been following me, you know how much I love them! Some of the oils you can find include lemon, lavender, green tea, grape seed oil. aloe vera and the famous jojoba oil.
Their everyday cream is absolutely great too! I like to use this one for my face, hands, lips and as a base before makeup.
This company is Canadian (support local!) from Ontario and it is safe for the whole family, as their products have no fragrance and are hypoallergenic.
I don’t know about you, but this mama will take all the helps she can get to avoid Botox LOL! I definitely recommend everyone to try these amazing local products!
Hello all! I can really use one of those hoodies with the quote “tired as a mother”. Seriously! Between a teething toddler, coughing kids (which means, I haven’t slept in 2 days) tons of new exciting projects that are coming for the blog and getting prepare for our trip next week, my mind is just all over the place.
Luckily for me, I was contacted by Cloud 9 Float Spa in Coquitlam. They invited me to try their famous float tanks that help you to release some stress. When I went to their website I kind doubt about it because I thought that I’ll feel claustrophobic. For my surprise, it was such an enjoyable experience!
Let’s start with the service. I was running late (of course) all stress out, trying to not forget all of the stuff you have to bring when you have kids (We only have 1 car, and Francisco wanted to go out with the kids too) so you know how it is. The bottle, the shoes, the coat. I called them on my way there all nervous, scared that they’ll get mad at me for being late, but instead, they reply with an “Ok, Please do not stress”.
I guess that’s the whole point of the experience lol! So, I came in, took out my shoes, took a shower and I was ready to go!
In the beginning, I let the tank open to get comfortable with everything. Once I felt secure, I closed it up. I love the fact that you can still leave the lights on when closed because I’m one of those people scared of the dark. (yes, I know I’m a 32-year-old).
I was scared to be alone with my thoughts lol, but it feels so good! It was what I call a real “me” time. The sensation of the water and the ambience of the place make it a great experience. I really can use another float experience right now!
If you decide to give them a try here is their website for you to check out.
Hello All! Holidays are around the corner, and what a better way of getting prepared than starting with ourselves. This is the perfect time to do something new with our hair, especially colouring, as there is not much sun involved (at least in Vancouver).
I visited Chez Pierre Salon in Langley a couple days ago, for a colour consultation, and let me tell you that these guys are at the top of their game in the hair world!
As hair experts they started with a test, checking the different colours to determine which shade suits me the best. Then, we talked about the haircut. Love how everything was so well planned, and how creative Pierre mind is. I’m so impressed by his techniques! He is so passionate about everything hair and he goes way beyond to exceed his client’s expectations.
Before we dig into what he did to my hair, another thing that I need to mention is their customer service! Seriously! I was seating there listening to happy music, drinking wine, enjoying some fruit and cheese, the salon has the best vibe! They are so friendly and down to earth! It was like a mini vacation for me lol!
Ok, I know you are wanting to know what he did to me, so here is the explanation: “I Used pravana pure cream lightener infused with coconut oil with 20 volume in foils processed 120 min for level 9. Placement of foils was diagonal and backcombing each section. Secondly, I applied 4.37 at nape and roots, melting it with 8.22 at mid-shaft and 10.04 aka 10c for copper blonde.” In simple words, a honey and caramel balayage.
If you are looking to change up your look completely and have no idea of who to trust, I cannot recommend a better salon in the lower mainland! Some of their services are Design cutting, colouring, ombre, highlights, olaplex, keratine smoothing treatment vivid purple hair colouring and blonding services.
If you don’t believe me, check out the more than 100 Google reviews or take a look at their website.
Probiotics are live bacteria or organisms that have beneficial effects on human health – they can come from whole foods that have been fermented – like raw unpasteurized sauerkraut and yoghurt, or taken in a supplemental form.
How do they work?
In the body, beneficial bacteria make up the microbiota. Most bacteria reside in the large intestine, some in the small intestine, and other places like the mouth, respiratory tract, genito-urinary tract, and skin. They provide many very important functions in the body, including:
Improve overall immunity as 70-80% immune system is in the gut and they regulate immune responses
They help suppress excessive inflammation
Help to reduce the allergic response
Help repair leaky gut and related skin issues like eczema as they promote the function of the intestinal inner lining, enhancing its ability to act as a barrier to the entry of potentially dangerous organisms and chemicals
Needed for absorption and manufacturing of nutrients (vitamin K, biotin, folate and vitamin B12)
Digesting and absorbing certain carbohydrates to produce energy
Aid in the elimination of toxins
Keeping bad bacteria under control that can lead to yeast overgrowth (candida)and inflammatory digestive conditions.
Support healthy mood balance, especially important for depression and anxiety
Are they different types?
There are up to 2000 species and 7000 strains of bacteria. The most studied ones for human health are Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum – which is why you will see large amounts of these in many probiotic supplements. Many specific strains are being used in different probiotics to target specific health concerns.
Are they good for everyone?
I believe they are so important for not just gut health, but overall health as the proper digestive function is the foundation where we need to start. According to scientists at the University of Toronto, “Probiotics can be recommended for prevention of diseases that are associated with altered intestinal ecology… their use should be considered in patients of all ages.”
Can kids take probiotics?
Yes, I especially recommend probiotics to children who tend to get sick a lot, have allergies, or eczema. The type of probiotics is specific to the child’s age, as infants have different needs as toddlers, and older children.
Should you take them daily, or every other day?
I recommend taking them daily, especially if you have digestive concerns.
Do you lose weight?
One of the foundations for healthy weight loss is reducing digestive inflammation because it can alter your satiety hormones like leptin. There is new research coming out daily on probiotics, and some strains are particularly helpful for weight loss.
Which one would you recommend?
I recommend brands like Genestra, Genuine Health, and Living Alchemy. For specific health concerns, I would recommend reaching out to a qualified health care practitioner, like myself!

“Self-care means, giving yourself permission to pause”
As most of you know, I don’t take as much “me time” as I would like to. Between my full-time job, trying to run my own business, kids, etc. It feels that I never have enough hours on the day (or I don’t make it).
One of the top reasons why I love living in Vancouver, it is that we get to truly enjoy every season. Fall it’s one of my favourite ones because the weather it’s not hot or cold, it’s just perfect. Love the magic of pumpkin everything and the fun of Halloween. I think it is the perfect season to slow down and do some self-care, physically and mentally.
Believe me, you don’t have to go and pay that super expensive massage at the Fairmont to effectively treat yourself, here are some tips that I’ve been doing and love it.
I read about this treatment at Jillian Harris and I was so curious about it! So, when my friend Crystal from the beauty perfectionist reach out to me to see If I wanted to give it a try, I said YES! It’s so pain-free and my face looks so clean and flawless afterwards!
You know how obsessed I’m with these! I absolutely love my diffuser from Finlandia health, as I think it goes in every space of my house! My favourite essentials oils are lavender and clary sage!
Pizza and Series
Yes, a little indulges hasn’t hurt anybody. Little Ceasars it’s our to go to when it comes to a nice takeout. Now, talking about series, I’ve been watching “this is us” and I’m obsessed about it. What I think I like the most about these series, is that every episode leaves you with a great life message. If you want to give it a try, make yourself a favour and get some Kleenex because you are going to need them lol!

Music and exercise
I’m super into Spotify and morning run lately! I seriously get lost in the music and I feel perfect afterwards! I know maybe this won’t sound like pampering for some of you, but for some of us that we do not have lots of times for exercise and truly enjoy it, it does feel like a break of cleaning/kids lol!
What’s your favourite way to pamper yourself? Leave me a comment!
If you know me, you know I’m not good at taking care of my skin. I do not use any sun protection, or expensive cream, I do not wash my face before sleep, I’m just a mess! But a couple months ago, for some reason, I decided it was time to pay attention to this tired face and make an effort, so when I heard that Bubbles and Wax had a special on Hydra facial I decided to give it a try, why? Because I was reading hydra facial in every beauty blog! So why is this treatment so popular?
The wow thing about it is that it performs 3 regimens at the same time, it cleans, exfoliates and infuse the skin with intensive serums. It renews the surface and texture of your skin, removing dead skin and helping reducing hyperpigmentation! Pretty amazing if you ask me!
Another big benefit, for those who care about ageing, is that it smooths away fine lines and wrinkles!
If you’ve never heard of Bubbles and Wax, they are located in the South Surrey/White Rock area, and they specialize in waxing and facials! I truly enjoy going there because their customer service is BEYOND good, and I always leave with a happy face (not only because of the bubbles you get after your treatments but because they are very good on what they do).
So I was very happy to give hydra facial a try, and I’ll continue with this treatment during the fall! Love that when the treatment was finished, and I was seating there enjoying my bubbles, I Immediately feel my skin so clean, hydrated and smooth. If you decide to give it a try, this treatment is regular $120, but right now bubbles and wax have it for only $59.99! Let me know how do you like it!
It’s summer, and I was SO ready for a change! I love doing something different with my hair every season, however with the 2 kids I find it impossible to go and spend hours at the salon, so since Matias was born, I’ve been only doing haircuts here and there.
It was really time for me to do something different and I’ve never been afraid of doing at-home color, I actually like it because it only takes 30 min PLUS you save so much budget!
I’ve been using Garnier since I was in high school, I’ve gone super blonde, super black but my natural hair is dark brown. I love playing with the choices, and so far, I haven’t been disappointed.
So what’s the Nutrisse Challenge?
1- Try it: Get a coupon to try a color of your choice.
2- Rate it: Write a review about it.
3- Win it: Enter for a chance to win one of the 10 boxes they are giving away every month for a year!
What I loved the most about the Nutrisse cream are the ingredients! It is a blend of avocado, olive and shea oils that makes my hair look natural and healthy! I was between this black and ash-blonde, this time I went for the blonde!
The result was a beautiful caramel brown, that brings so much light to my face! I’m lucky enough to not have any grey hair yet, but I can bet that this product would cover all of that if you need to. It usually lasts around 8 weeks, but I don’t think I’m waiting until fall to try the next colour! If you are ready for a change, give it a try and share your before and after!
