I can’t believe we are more than a half way to 2020. Summer is here and one of my favourite holidays too, Canada Day! As a proud Mexican-Canadian, we always like to do something special this day. We would usually spend this day somewhere camping. Sometimes we head to downtown Vancouver to see the fireworks, …

One of our favourite things to do as a family is exploring new farms. Every spring/summer we will drive around Vancouver and the Fraser valley trying new places. I love having my kids exposed to nature and the animals, and it’s been like that since they were born. I remember taking Mia since she was …
Hello All! I’m so excited to share with you about this event for two reasons, number one is how much I love the “why” of this event (We are going to learn what to do to prevent all of our waste going to the landfills, by properly recycling) and two because I know some people think that all the family-friendly activities are only located in Vancouver.
City of Surrey will host their ninth annual party for the planet, which is BC’S largest Earth Day celebration at Surrey Civic Plaza. This event is happening on Saturday, April 13 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The signature Surrey event will feature the new undercover Live Green world, offering environmental workshops, a sustainable marketplace, concerts and local vendors!
This Free event presented by TD, will offer 1,000 free succulents to attendees (talking about attendees, we heard Big Bird and Elmo are going to be there) and is going to be full of family-friendly activities, some of them include a free zip line, rock climbing wall, road hockey and food trucks.
If you are into plants, they are going to have a sale on native trees for $20 each, and plants from $2 to $4. I cannot tell you how much I’ve been wanting to add more of these in my house! Soulful singer Colin Bullock, indie pop duo Harlequin Gold, and children’s performers Bobs & Lolo will perform on the TD main stage (Located inside council chambers).
Live music will be heard throughout the event, with a DJ in the Adventure Zone and acoustic performances in Live green World and City Hall Atrium.
If you are outside of Surrey and feel lazy about the drive, you can always take the Skytrain which leaves you right there while helping the environment.
My family and I are going to be there, so don’t forget to say hi if you see me around.
What’s your favourite Surrey Event?

Happy March everyone! I can’t believe Spring break is 2 weeks ahead! I’ve been actively looking for things to do with the kids, as daycare AND preschool are both closed for those 2 weeks!
We were thinking about going on vacations but we are in the middle of house reno, so I’m focusing on finding activities within the city to maintain the kids busy, our budget in control and our sanity lol. Good news is Cineplex is here to save us!!

Last weekend my family and I we hit the Cineplex Scotiabank Theatre and we watched the Kid Who Would be King!
“Old-school magic meets the modern world when young Alex stumbles upon the mythical sword Excalibur. He soon joins forces with a band of knights and the legendary wizard Merlin when the wicked enchantress Morgana threatens the future of mankind.”
Mia and I we were super into the story! The effects, the animation, the picture. I truly recommended for kids 8 years old and up!
